love is patient, love is kind, love means slowly losing your mind

I got this phrase - or fragment rather, from a friend of mine and I do not really have an idea how true it is. I haven't had a serious relationship for years. In fact, I haven't had a serious relationship at all. By the way, the context of love here would be romantic love - the one you 'supposedly' have for your lover, husband, or whatever. I really can't define what romantic love is. It seems an overrated, far-fetched idea. Its just that I haven't really felt something beyond a mere infatuation, something beyond affection and compassion. I had a number of guys in my life but I couldn't claim that I have loved any one of them. I may just have felt a major crush, an obsessive infatuation, or a passing fancy.

I love my family, my friends, my studies, my books, and etcetera but to think about the love 'supposedly' one has in a romantic relationship seemed out of my league for me. I could talk about European Union (EU) treaties, European culture, European languages, society, and whatnot but when it comes to talking about something as simple as love, I sometimes feel that I have nothing to say that wouldn't go beyond the borders of infatuation; nothing that would make me lose my mind and launch a thousand arrows or send off a thousand ships. It seems that talking about it is not simple at all.

How would you know if you love someone? Are you sure you're really in love with the person or you're just in love with love?

B ecareful with it--romantic love can get greedy because it feels so good. remember that friendship is always the key. I speak from experience.

Eh, same here. I could talk about everything to the best of my knowledge but I can't say anything when it comes to love. Because I haven't fallen for anyone so deep.

I don't even know when I'm in love. Well, I notice myself being happy. In fact, too happy. Like I can't control myself from smiling. I would always look blooming and dashing lol.

Much Love,

Attraction fades, but love is a bond you build upon. I am a hopeless romantic and still believe in the existence of BIG LOVE. I have had boyfriends, but the truth is, I never felt love for any of them. I have seen real love. It's amazing and I don't want anything less than that for my life. You're still young, you have plenty of time!

Love should be what remains when there is no emotion left.
